Emergent Waste Solutions Inc. Signs MOU with Conatus Environmental Technologies of Brazil

Vancouver, B.C. August 09, 2021 – Emergent Waste Solutions Inc. (“EWS” or “the Company”), is pleased to announce that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Conatus Environmental Technologies of Brazil.

The project will utilize an ATS500 Plant and will process waste tire crumb and wood waste from an urban setting. The plant will be used by EWS and Conatus to showcase the ATS solution in South America. The partners fully expect additional plants to be added to this project in the near-term.

Conatus will work jointly with EWS to build a solid business case for the project. Among other things, we will modify a pro forma to reflect all the local expenses and revenues, adapt the capital expenditures table for the Brazilian context, secure land and building, ensure that feedstocks will be secure and long-term, procure solid offtake agreements for the manufactured products, and satisfy all government regulations and requirements. While significant components of this are already being worked on, or are already in place, we expect it will be mid-September before we are ready to take the business case to financiers.

States Kevin Hull: “We are fortunate to have found Conatus as our partner.  Their extensive environmental experience in Brazil, South America’s largest country, will help facilitate expansion of additional plants in Brazil and other Latin American countries

On a very somber note, today we saw a grim release from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change. Referring to the release, UN Secretary General António Guterres said in a statement: "The alarm bells are deafening, this report must sound a death knell for coal and fossil fuels, before they destroy our planet." He went on to describe the report as a "code red for humanity".

I believe that EWS has a burden of responsibility to get its technology rolled out as extensively and quickly as possible. With ATS we can significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions from carbon-based waste streams and at the same time create energy that can displace coal and other high-polluting fossil fuels.

States Kevin Hull, CEO of EWS: “Corporations and individuals worldwide must certainly do their part right now, and EWS believes we can be front and center going forward.”
